Centre-GPMI

Who We Are

Centre-GPMI Research

Our Story

The Centre for Health Genomics and Precision Medicine Initiatives (Centre-GPMI) is an independent, non-profit, non-partisan, non-governmental organization dedicated to advancing genomics, precision medicine, and evidence-based public health within healthcare systems, research, policy, and community development. Headquartered in Jos, Plateau State, Centre-GPMI was established to close a critical gap: while genomic medicine is reshaping healthcare worldwide, most African health systems — including Nigeria's — have limited capacity to research, translate, and deliver its benefits locally.

Centre-GPMI is building that capacity from the ground up — strong governance, a skilled workforce, ethical research infrastructure, and community-facing programmes designed for real-world impact.

Our Vision

A future in which genomics, precision medicine, and evidence-based public health transform healthcare systems, enabling every individual and community to achieve predictive, personalized, and equitable care.

Our Mission

To advance the responsible integration of genomics, precision medicine, and evidence-based public health into healthcare systems through research, innovation, education, and community engagement.
