Dr. Yohanna Musa Usman
Founder & Executive Director/CEO · MBBS, M.Sc., Ph.D., FMCA
Dr. Usman is a physician-scientist, consultant anaesthetist, and genomics researcher whose career spans clinical medicine, biomedical research, and precision healthcare. He earned his MBBS from the University of Maiduguri, then went on to complete an M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Human Genomics at the University of Jos. He also trained as a specialist in Anaesthesia, Critical Care, and Pain Management at Jos University Teaching Hospital, earning the Fellowship of the Medical College of Anaesthetists along the way. His work brings together clinical practice, human genomics, pharmacogenomics, bioinformatics, and molecular diagnostics in service of one mission: precision medicine that works for African patients.
Professor Nanyak Zingfa Galam
Chairman, Scientific Advisory Board · MBBS, M.Sc., Ph.D.
Professor Galam is a physician-scientist and academic leader with more than 18 years in biomedical research and higher education. He currently serves as Professor of Physiology and Provost of the College of Health Sciences at the Federal University Wukari, Taraba State. He earned his MBBS and M.Sc. in Human Physiology from the University of Jos, and later completed a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering at Near East University, Cyprus. Over his career he has authored more than 30 peer reviewed publications, with research spanning cell physiology, cancer biology, and biomaterials, including notable work on silk fibroin biomaterials for breast cancer treatment. As Chairman of the Scientific Advisory Board, he guides Centre-GPMI's scientific direction, with a particular focus on bringing nanotechnology enhanced genomics to precision cancer medicine across African populations. He is an active member of the Nigerian Medical Association, the Physiological Society of Nigeria, and the Academic Staff Union of Universities.
